The probe will have to be charged somewhat before you can use it. Charge if necessary.
Tap the INPUT READINGS button from the Main form.
The next form prompt you to press the Proceed button to connect to the probe. Do not tap Proceed yet. Wait for the probe to start clicking.
Press and hold the probe's trigger for about 12 seconds. The display will change several times. You will see asterisks on the display from left to right on the second line. Continue to hold the trigger. A list of protocols will be displayed. Continue to hold the trigger for another 6 seconds until the display reads: RELEASE BUTTON NOW. Release the trigger.
The probe will count down from 300.
Now that the probe is clicking, tap the Proceed button on the handheld.
The handheld will attempt to contact the probe and will probe will stop clicking when the connection is made.
If the clicking does not stop, the probe connection failed. Follow the probe setup to ensure all is correct. Click here to review setup: Probe Setup
Find a meter with a touch pad. Take a probe reading a few times to make sure the reading(s) are transferred to the handheld.
If the readings are not coming into the handheld, the probe's address is probably not setup correctly. Click here to review setup: Probe Setup
When the testing is finished, tap Skip Test. Otherwise, tap Cancel to return to the Main form.
The route screen will be shown.
The down arrow or up arrow button in the lower right corner of the screen indicates the direction the route will be read. If the arrow is pointing down, the meters will appear in forward route order. Otherwise, if the arrow is pointing up, the meters will appear in reverse route order.
Tap READ button to start reading at the current meter position indicated by the >> pointer.
If the meter is marked to be read with a probe, the keypad will be hidden and a message will appear:

Waiting....XXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX refers to the pad ID the handheld is expecting to read.
As long as you read that specific pad / meter combination, the handheld will accept the reading and move to the next meter in the route. (Note that the route direction indicates whether the next meter is forward or backward in the route. Also, it will skip forward to the next unread meter.
The handheld will sound a confirmation that the reading was accepted. Otherwise, it will report the reason the reading was not accepted.
For an Aceeca Meazura device, push the center button to reverse the direction of the route. A small arrow will briefly flash in the middle of the screen to indicate the new direction.
